What You'll Do
The Software ML Engineer will be responsible for providing new designs and advanced algorithms of the Stealthwatch ML-based products and to actively contribute to bring them to the next level.
Working only on real use-cases and already shipped products, the Software ML Engineer first responsibility is to deeply engage with his peers and our networking security experts to analyse our large sets of customer data. Then, his role is to prototype, validate and implement extensions or new functionalities of our products leading to new valuable elements for our customers.

Role & Responsibilities
● Engage with peers and security experts to analyse data and business requirements
● Propose innovative solutions that meet customer expectations
● Prototype and validate (on real data) mathematical algorithms as well as implement the production version
● Scope tasks and contribute to identification of development risks and opportunities
● Engage in regular pairs programming, design reviews and code reviews sessions
● Work with Tech Leads and team members to create and enforce code quality and maintainability

Who You'll Work With
The Stealthwatch group is providing our customers with a great family of products enhancing visibility into advanced threats by identifying suspicious patterns of traffic in a Cisco network. Within this group, the Stealthwatch Leaning Networks (SLN) team is a pretty unique gathering of Cisco best-of-class networking engineers and top machine learning experts. This very innovative group (owning dozens of patents) has developed a hyper-distributed analytics product that inspects the network traffic and applies unsupervised machine learning algorithms to perform a behavioral analysis. The SLN team core is made of high-tech passion and the pursuit of customer satisfactions in one of the most technical industries.

Who You Are
The Software ML Engineer must have a deep technical expertise in applied ML to be able to leverage advanced classifiers, knowledge builders, decision makers or any ML based techs into significant and differentiable features. The Software ML Engineer will be part of an Agile software development team and must have a basic understanding of the Agile software development methodologies. The Software ML Engineer is expected to be driven by customers data and to be focused on customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:
● 7+ years of machine learning software developing experience
● 7+ years of experience using C++ and Python and corresponding ML libs (armadillo, pandas)
● 2+ years of experience working with the Linux OS
● Experience using Continuous Integration and Soft Metrics Tools (e.g. jenkins, sentry, sonar)

Desired Skills
● Master Degree or PhD in Computer Science or Applied Mathematics
● Excellent knowledge of Supervised Learning (linear model, neural network, markov chain, decision tree)
● Solid background on Unsupervised and Reinforcement Learning (kernel based, bayesian, mdp, pomdp, active learning)
● Good Experience in the design of combinatorial optimization and metaheuristic algorithms
● Strong skills in development of top performances implementations (high constrains due to on-prem impl or large data) is a plus
● Experience working in development environments that require networking and TCP/IP skills is a plus
